Bio
Born in Los Angeles to a family of actors, James did his first commercial at the age of two. He continued to work regularly as a commercial and voiceover artist throughout high school. At Brentwood School James played the role of Sheridan Whiteside in The Man Who Came to Dinner and fell in love with live performance.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude with degrees in Philosophy and Theatre from East Tennessee State University where he also earned several Irene Ryan acting scholarship nominations and won the Bud Frank Award for Excellence in Theatre.
James followed his love of theatre to the University of Louisville where he received an MFA in Acting. During his three years at U of L, James trained with Dennis Krausnick, founder of Shakespeare & Co., performed in numerous mainstage productions, produced the Studio season and founded a comedy troupe (The Indicators) which he continues to run. James was also given the Warren Oates Award for Outstanding Potential in a Graduate Student.
Since moving to New York James has performed with The Acting Company, National Comedy Theatre, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival and Miami Theatre Center, among others. He is a proud member of AEA & SAG-AFTRA, in addition to being a certified actor/combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) and British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat (BASSC).
